World Book Day Week28 February 2025 (by helena steeples (hsteeples)) |
Reminder - to help pupils celebrate World Book Day this year we challenge you to take a photo of your child reading a favorite book in an “Extreme” place. Examples in the past have included on a horse, up a mountain in a bin and in a tunnel. The more creative the better! Please send these into school by Monday (these may be emailed to the office) – Prizes will be awarded later in the week.
On Thursday 6th March catering will be serving a World Book Day meal of pizza with a choice of toppings; pasta with tomato sauce; pancakes with homemade chocolate or fruit sauce and fresh fruit. If your child/ren would like to order a dinner on this day please ask them to tell their teacher. Payments for dinners to be made through Parentpay or if your child is in KS1 they will be entitled to a Universal Free School Meal.
Children are also asked to bring in a book on Friday 7th March. They will then have the chance to choose another book brought in by another child throughout the day.
Children can come dressed as a character from one of their favorite books (they can wear school uniform if they wish). Parent/family members (2 max per family) are invited to come and read with their child/ren at 2.45pm – 3.20pm (in place of Celebration Worship). Children can bring £1 to buy a chocolate treat and have a chance to win one of the Golden tickets (from a selection of prizes). Children will take part in a reading themed activity in their classes during the day.
