World Book Day Plans13 February 2025 (by Andrew Rudge (arudge)) |
To celebrate World Book day this year:
Extreme Readers: Over half term, we challenge you to take a photo of your child reading a favourite book in an 'Extreme' place. Examples in the past have included on a horse, up a mountain, in a bin and in a tunnel. The more creative the better! Please send these in on Monday 3rd March (can be emailed to the office) - Prizes will be awarded later in the week.
Book Swap: Children are asked to bring in a book. They will then have chance to choose another book brought in by another child throughout the day. Please bring these in on Thursday 6th March
Friday 7th March: Children can come dressed as a character from one of their favourite books (they can wear school uniform if they prefer) Parents/ Family members (2 max per family) are invited to come and read with their child/ren at 2:45pm - 3:20pm (in place of Celebration Worship) Children can bring £1.00 to buy a chocolate treat and have a chance to win one of the Golden Tickets (for a selection of prizes) Children will take part in a reading themed activity in their classes during the day.
