Important changes from September 2023 in school13 June 2023 (by Andrew Rudge (arudge)) |
Please be aware that there will be several changes in school times and in staffing from September.
School Day:
From September, the school day will start for all children at 8:50am with gates opening at 8:45am. The school day will end for all children at 3:20pm.
Drop off and pick-ups will remain the same with Reception and Key Stage 1 children being dropped off/ collected at the playground gate and Key Stage 2 children at the main gate. If you have children in both Key Stages, please bring both children to the playground at the start of the day (Key Stage 2 children will make their way to class from the playground) and collect children in Reception/ Key Stage 1 from the playground before collecting Key Stage 2 children at the main gate.
These changes have been made to adhere to new DfE expectations. Children will still have the same amount of breaks during the day, but we will be reverting back to having shared breaks with all children out at the same time.
Staffing:
We are pleased to announce that we have recruited Mrs Sophie Beck who will be teaching next year's Reception class in the mornings. She will have responsibility for planning the continual provision that will remain in place during the afternoon sessions when the Reception class join Mrs Millington and Years 1 and 2.
In addition to this and in order to best meet the needs of all children in school, there will also be some changes in where our team of experienced Teaching Assistants will be placed:
Class 1 (Reception/ Year 1/ Year 2) - Miss Abbey and Mrs Richards
Class 2 (Year 3 and Year 4) - Mrs Turpin and Mr Roderick
Class 3 (Year 5 and 6) - Mrs Vernon
Please note, all other teaching staff will remain in their current classes.
If parents have any questions regarding this, please contact the school office.
